Soaked Oats Recipe
Soaked oats are easy on your gut and beneficial for your overall wellness. This simple recipe is a great way to incorporate whole grains into your daily diet.
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (with the mother) see notes for alternative
- 1/2 cup water filtered
First, add your ingredients to a jar and mix them well.
Next place the lid on the jar without sealing it too tightly to allow the jar to breathe.
Then leave the jar on the counter overnight.
The next day, you can use oats immediately or store them tightly in the fridge for use throughout the week.
Tip: You can use this recipe to make traditional oatmeal or prepare your favorite overnight oats. Below, I have listed some recipes for how I use my soaked oats.
As an alternative, you can replace apple cider vinegar with 1-2 tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt. Since you're using dairy, let this sit in the fridge overnight for cold fermentation.
