Our wellness recipes are curated from the heart. While thoughtfully considering every ingredient and giving purpose to our body’s needs.
Oats are a simple whole grain we can begin to add in each day.
Oats contain many healing properties, not only for our gut but also for our overall wellness. Having oats each day will keep you full for longer periods. They are also filled with protein and many nutrients our bodies need.
Our focus should be adding in more nutrient-dense foods or what I like to call positive additions. This is where we keep our focus on the positives and continue to add in more of the goodness for our bodies.

Why Soak Your Oats?
Naturally, whole-grain oats can be difficult for our bodies to digest. One way we can support our gut and give our body the most nutrients from this food is to soak our oats.
You can do this easily by soaking your oats overnight in an acidic solution. The acidic solution helps to break down the oats, which will give your body the most health benefits.

Support Your Digestion
If your digestion is off and not functioning properly as it should be, what does this mean for your body? You may not be receiving the appropriate nutrients from your food as your body needs each day. Our health is vital to those minerals and nutrients.
Your gut is like the second brain in your body. This makes it always a great starting place for anyone. But let it not be just the place you begin but a place you always remain. Here we can begin healing and promoting full wellness for our whole body.
Remember…
These recipes are to give you a place to start as when we are switching and changing habits we don’t always fully know what that may look like for us.
During this trial and error phase, you are exploring and finding what works for you. What I share with you here is in no way the exact picture of what healthy looks like but this is what it looks like for me and where I am.
I am always growing and continue to add more positives in one small simple step.
So continue to have fun in the kitchen, keep building that positive relationship with your food, and learn what it does for you and your body.
My hope is that you look at these recipes with an open heart and remember that recipes are just guides; you can create them with your favorite fruits and vegetables that you love.

Soaked Oats Recipe
One serving
Ingredients
½ cup (40g) Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
1 tsp (4g) Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother)
½ cup (4oz) Filtered water
Directions:
First, add your ingredients to a jar and mix well. Next place the lid on the jar (not too tight allow the jar to breathe). Then leave the jar on the counter overnight.
The next day, close the lid tightly and place it in the fridge to use throughout the week. Now you have your soaked oats, and you can cook them as you normally would.
Tip: You can use this recipe to make traditional oatmeal or your favorite overnight oats. I have listed below some recipes for how I use my soaked oats. 3
