Setting Yourself Up For Success
Today, I want to talk about setting yourself up for success and what this can look like for you. This here is another key to unlocking where you are while taking you to where you want to go.
When we truly set ourselves up for success in our everyday lifestyle. We are always in a state of constant progression and moving forward. So it’s important to note where you are and stay mindful of what’s happening around you.
And if you ever find yourself in a place of constant comfort, this is a clear indication that somewhere along the way, we stopped growing.
Remember,
No matter where you are in your journey, you can start setting yourself up for success. I want to share with you some helpful steps that can add a strong layer to your foundation.
So when the storms of life come you can continue moving forward and enjoying your journey.
Start with one small step at a time.
Set The Stage
Step 1 Preparation
Preparation is essential it not only prepares you for what’s to come but even more for the unexpected. Those who think ahead and prepare put themselves in a ready position.
When you begin to live in a more prepared way you start to strengthen your aim and even define your goals. Every small act we take can make the biggest difference in our outcome.
Place yourself in a ready position.
Step 2 Mindset
What we think truly does matter which leads me to this next one your mindset. Our mind and focus play right into our actions.
So I want to encourage you to put your focus on what you can control. When we place our focus on what we can control we begin to give ourselves the permission that’s needed. Take some of those stressors and added pressure off yourself.
Keep your focus where it should be, not on things that are out of your control. This tool is powerful for the mind and heart. It’s a shift that keeps us centered and grounded in the right place.
It’s in the act of surrender where we can find rest.

Step 3 Tools & Resources
Lastly, it’s about using your tools and resources. We know that preparation leads us to more successful outcomes. But when we utilize the tools and resources the right way. They can keep us in a momentum of moving forward and full of success.
The tools I have listed below come in a variety from wellness living to nutrition in the kitchen. So don’t be afraid to take the time to find and discover ones you will enjoy. Find the ones that are most useful to you and realistic to your daily lifestyle.
A purpose with structure is the true direction.
Wellness Living
Mental stability,
peace-giving, & heart healing.
Journals
Journaling is not only good for healing your heart but also your mind. It’s a form of preparation for action. By keeping your mind and heart in the right place it keeps your focus and energy where it matters most.
Sometimes you feel you have nothing to say but something magical happens when you put a pen in your hand. You find your heart does have something to say. Put some soft music on and set the mood.
Choose to let it out and let it go. Do it for you because what lies ahead is more important than what’s behind.
Planners
Planners give you a sense of peace no matter what season you may be in. While giving you room to look forward to what’s to come. Planners prepare you and keep you on track throughout the month. They help with our time, goals, and bills by keeping us accountable. When things are in order success is inevitable.
If you’re a mom or someone who juggles a lot on their plate then I’m sure you know this one.
Digital calendar
These digital calendars are great at holding us accountable from day to day. Especially when you’re on the go you can set reminders and tasks and they ring on your phone.
This is extremely helpful even just to place certain things from your calendar on here. Where we place our time and energy makes up our lives. So it’s really important to make sure you’re putting your time and energy into the right places. Making room for where you want to go.
Notepad & Notebooks
Using a notepad or notebook can be digital or physical. I use both and each of these is extremely helpful especially for those in between moments during your day. The notes app on your phone is a perfect fit for those ideas and thoughts that just come up.
Another favorite of mine is using a notebook to jot things down kind of like a brain dump page. Then once it’s written out you can repurpose it all into your planner or a to-do list. When we hold it all in our heads things can quickly become very intense and overwhelming.
I have found this to be a huge mental relief but can also help you see things clearer.
Nutrition
Heal and nourish your body with intentional actions.
Meal Ideas
Plan ahead by thinking of what foods you will eat and have on hand. You can easily start by thinking of the meals you want to create for the week. Then make your shopping list.
By doing this you will not only stay on track and be intentional. You will also have less food waste each week and save money. This is a go-to for me and such a powerful way to live each day.
Meal Prep
Preparing for your weekly meals in advance leaves you without having to cook each day. I am sure we are all familiar with meal prep and this specific style is not for everyone. I do find it useful to have a meal or two on hand ready to go.
This style of prep is easier when you’re on a busier schedule. Try it and see what’s right for you. Set aside a time each week to prepare your meals and snacks for that daily grab-and-go.
Ingredient Prep
This one is a popular choice for me. It’s very realistic and saves so much time when you’re cooking your meals. It’s very helpful when it comes to making your meals each day and throughout the week.
What you’re doing is preparing your ingredients ahead of time each week especially those that can take much longer. So you can have quick and simple meals right when you need them.
Helpful tools to keep life balanced.
Lastly, setting yourself up for success is about thinking ahead and preparing for what’s to come. All while keeping your mind and heart in the right place.
Each step is important on its own but when we work them together with our balanced lifestyle we can begin to see a huge shift not only in our goals but our wellness.
Create realistic goals and choose each week how you will start setting yourself up for success.
From my heart to yours,
