How Do The Kidneys Work?
Let’s take a look at where the kidneys live and what they do.
The kidneys are a part of our urinary system where it works with the bladder to clean our blood of waste and toxins.
Now the kidneys are all about balance so while it’s cleaning our blood they also have the task of keeping the salt and water within our bodies just right.
Each hour that passes all of the blood in our body has been cleaned and filtered through our kidneys. I think it’s safe to say these are some hard-working organs.
So let’s lighten their load by doing our part to support them.
You are not only what you eat but what you drink.
Water Is Life To Us
Water is essential for our bodies without good clean water, we can’t thrive. In order for us to achieve good health we have to have the right balance of water and electrolytes (minerals).
These minerals in our bodies come from what we eat and what we drink. Here’s where those healing herbs come in handy as they are full of minerals.
Our kidneys love about two to three liters of water a day. So I want to encourage you to drink more water and take the guesswork out. Grab a water bottle and choose to know how much water you’re drinking each day.
Always stay mindful and never forget that too much of anything, even if that thing is good can become harmful.
Listen to your body. Choose balanced living.
Love Your Kidneys
Here are some basic but very crucial habits that are extremely beneficial for the health of our kidneys.
Sleep: Get a good night’s rest and aim for at least 8 hours each night. This is when your kidneys repair those damaged cells and grow new ones.
Stress less: Stress hurts your body, so try to look for ways to incorporate more rest into your daily routine. You can add in some physical activity or relaxation techniques.
Here are some ideas: Try taking a walk in nature or relaxing in a warm bath. Maybe give yourself some quiet time where you put on soothing music and journal. Find what works for you and make it a priority.
Love Yourself: Practice self-love by taking more time to love yourself. Click here to learn more.
