A true wellness journey takes time. But don’t let that be something you put off for later.
What you do today will show up in your tomorrow.
To my beautiful friends,
Our lifestyle is more than a piece of our health, it’s the foundation on which all aspects of our well-being are built upon.
To help you create your healthy lifestyle this starts with a lifestyle change.
Your lifestyle is what you do day in and day out and your health it’s much more than food and exercise alone but everything as a whole.
It’s your inner health, your connections, the environment you live in, and even your spiritual health all play a part in your wellness.
When we begin a lifestyle change, it’s a big change that can feel overwhelming.
That’s why I want to share a series of wellness letters with you to help you simplify your transition and make this change successful.
Here, we create a lifestyle that promotes our health and well-being first. So, no matter where this finds you and your health today, you can create the lifestyle your heart truly seeks and live it now.
Welcome to your holistic wellness journey. I am so excited for you and what you will uncover. The best things in life don’t come easily but are worth it.
Let’s start off the right way and begin building a solid foundation.
Make big changes with small simple steps.
Build Your Foundation
When we start to build the right way it’s important to set your foundation first. Some of the biggest tests in life can be the unexpected.
So when no foundation is present we may find that what we have built becomes unstable and can even fall apart.
Here I want to share with you some simple wellness habits that will help you form and firm your foundation. As you implement these every day you will be laying down those bricks needed to create a steady and stable path.
Back to the basics. Create a steady path.
How To Use
To get started simply choose two steps listed below and make this your focus each week. Be intentional by using each one daily. Then when you are ready come back and take another.
From here you keep adding until you are using each step every day with ease. That’s the goal.
Now some of these you may already be doing while others you could be more consistent with. So take a moment to go through each one and be honest with yourself. Choose what’s most realistic for you.
No matter where you are there’s always room for us to grow.
Action Steps:
Each time you make a meal or snack think…
How can I incorporate these steps today?
What am I missing on my plate or bowl?
What can I add that I haven’t had today?
You can even set an alarm mid-day just to check in with yourself.
You can go through this list mentally or physically (maybe it’s on your fridge or phone). To help you think about what you have or haven’t done yet, while also preparing for what’s next.
Add more positive changes to your everyday life.
Wellness Habits
Be mindful.
You are what you eat & drink.
#1 Eat More Vegetables
Aim for having most of your plate filled with vegetables. Build your meals around these. This gives you more opportunity to give what’s best for your body first.
Vegetables are full of powerful antioxidants and nutrients that help heal and support our bodies.
So when we choose to eat in a variety this gives us maximum nutrition directly from the foods we eat.
Create your food playlist. These will be your go-to.
#2 Eat More Fruit
Adding more fruit into your daily meals and snacks gives your body the most of what it needs directly from your food.
Fruit is healing as it repairs and nourishes us from the inside out. Choose the ones richest in color as they are filled with the most antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals.
Try different fruits and find your favorites.
#3 Eat Enough Protein
Get enough protein. Protein is essential to our body. Not only does protein help with keeping you full but it provides an amino acid our bodies need and can’t make.
It’s important to remember we get different nutrients when we eat in variety. Protein comes in many forms not only from fish and chicken but also from beans, grains, nuts, and seeds.
Explore and get creative in the kitchen your body will be so glad you did.
Create a balanced plate.
#4 Replenish Your Body
Hydrate yourself daily and be mindful of what your body needs. Our body is always speaking to us letting us know its needs but if we ignore these signals these will lessen.
So properly hydrate your body and replenish yourself.
Our body uses the water we drink to carry away waste and remove toxins from us.
Do you know how much water your body needs? This number is specific to you. If you’re going to be intentional on getting enough then you should know exactly what enough is.

#5 Make Moves
Exercise is essential for our health. Not just for our body but our mind, soul, and spirit. Allow your body to heal and restore as movement nourishes you.
When you look at exercise, begin to take the task that to-do list out of it. Start making moves for you and instead, let it come from a place of gratitude with love and care.
It’s a place where you get to do something for your body. Take the time to care for yourself.
Make daily movement a priority each week.
Find and explore your favorite ways to move. Invite balance.
Lastly,
This here is you investing in yourself so let’s make it count. A true wellness journey takes time but that’s the beauty of it. It gives you time so you can continue personalizing it just for you.
Give yourself some grace and take it one small simple step at a time.
What’s Next
I want to encourage you to keep growing and building your healthy lifestyle so when you’re ready this next one is just for you Step # 2.
